Ride40 Minutes

Challenge open: 1st August - 31st October

StreetInvest is marking Richmond Borough and Fontainebleau’s 40th Twinning Anniversary with a cycle ride from Château de Fontainebleau to Orleans House Gallery.

Those who could not take the time off work, or were daunted by the 263 miles, can still join in the anniversary celebrations - and support street children around the world – by taking part in Ride40 Minutes.

The premise is simple. You cycle on a static bike in the comfort of your own gym for 40 minutes – one for each of the years the borough has been twinned with the French town - and are sponsored by family, friends and work colleagues for the number of miles covered in the allotted time.

Best of all, the man and woman who cycle the greatest distance will win dinner for two at Chez Lindsay, Richmond. And their gym will be presented with a trophy.

“This is such a simple fundraising idea and perfect for gym goers who like to keep fit and healthy.

I am delighted to support StreetInvest’s vital work with street children around the world. These are among the most neglected, discriminated against and abused children in our society.

“Knowing that 40 minutes pedalling could change a young life for the better is reason enough for everyone to visit their gyms today and jump into the saddle.”
